Black goji (scientific name Lycium ruthenicum) is a different species from the familiar red goji (Lycium barbarum) – grown mainly on highland plateaus, with much lower yield than red goji.
When steeped in warm water, black goji produces a distinctive purple-blue colour instead of the red-orange of regular goji – from the natural anthocyanin pigment in its skin.
Black goji has a mild tart taste, different from the lingering sweetness of red goji – suits those who want a change of flavour or an eye-catching drink colour.
The product is in its natural whole-berry form, with no further processing, no added colour, and no preservatives.

How to use: Steep in 80–90°C warm water like tea, can be combined with red dates. Useg per day.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight; after opening, reseal and use within days.
Why does black goji tea turn purple?
That's the natural colour from anthocyanin pigment in the black goji skin – not added colouring. The exact shade can vary with the water's pH (more alkaline water tends to give a clearer blue-purple).
Do I need to rinse black goji before brewing?
A quick rinse with clean water is recommended to remove any dust from packaging and shipping.
Can children or pregnant women use it?
It's an ordinary food. That said, young children, pregnant women, or people under medical treatment should consult a doctor before regular use.
